Today, Westcare said farewell to foster care case manager Ron Perry, who is leaving Westcare after 18 years of service.
Senior Manager for Foster Care and Transitional Services, Chris Jones, reflected on Ron's work at Westcare.
"This week we say goodbye to Ron Perry who retires on Friday 30th June exactly 18 years to the day after having commenced at Westcare on 30th June 1999. Congratulations Ron on a sensational achievement!
Ron has made a remarkable contribution to Westcare over the past 18 years, initially working in Residenital care, then in Intensive Case Management Services and for the past 16 years in the ACP Program and more recently in Foster Care.
Ron is someone who has always gone above and beyond over the years; volunteering to go on camps with kids, being a foster carer himself with his wife Denise, helping out at functions, being Santa and generally readily lending a hand.
There are many young people and carers who's lives have been enriched by knowing Ron.
On behalf of everyone at Westcare I would like to say a BIG thank you to Ron for a remarkable contribution to kids and carers over the past 18 years and wish him all the very best for the future."
Westcare is grateful for the 18 years of service provided by Ron and for his unwaving support and care for vulnerable babies, children and young people in care.
Once retired, Ron looks forward to travelling and spending more time with family. We wish him all the very best.
