April 26th

In the lead up to the launch of The Salvation Army's 2016 Red Shield Appeal, Network 10 Executive General Manager, Russel Howcroft came to visit Westcare in Sunshine.

As the Red Shield's MC, Russel journeyed to The Salvation Army Westcare to learn more about the work and support services provided to vulnerable young people in Melbourne's West.

During this visit, Russel met with Senior Manger for Residential Services, Peter Annesely and Ralph Salera, manager for Transitional Services. During their meeting, Russel was able to learn about Westcare's residential services, foster care unit and the projects developed to support young people during their time in and after care.

For Peter Annesley, meeting with this year’s ambassador was a fantastic opportunity to share information about the services run at Westcare and the importance of Red Shield funding.

“It was important for Russel to see the value added into our programs and meet with our hard working team who strive to ensure positive outcomes for the vulnerable young people who come into our care.”

“It was great to have our ambassador take time and take an interest in the positive work being done at Westcare and the fantastic achievements made by our young people”
