Westcare is involved a number of community projects, ranging from service support to organising and hosting holiday and trip programs.
The idea behind our community projects is to create and organise events and programs that allow members of the community which may not have access to such programs or events a greater degree of involvement and engagement. Whatever we do and create, the rationale is that it's accessible and (hopefully) beneficial to the community - whether they are in the care of the agency or members of the wider community.
In 2012, Westcare's community projects wil consist of the As Eye See It project, the continuing development of the Sunshine Community Garden and a trip to the Kimberley region of Western Australia as part of the Going Places-Creating Memories program. Plans are under way for the rebuilding of Bambara to commence later in 2012.
