We invite you to sign up for our email service in order to receive regular email updates from The Salvation Army. We typically send one email about every 4 to 6 weeks, depending on the type of information you have requested.

What will be in the email?

You can choose the type of information you would like to receive from The Salvation Army via email, including:

  • Media releases
  • Personal donation requests
  • Corporate donation and sponsorship requests
  • Worship and ministry
  • Updates on Salvation Army social services
  • Information for teachers and students

While the actual content of each email may include any or all of the above, we hope to tailor the content to your request.

Unsubscribing

You can change the type of information you receive or unsubscribe from our email list at any time:

  1. Go to any email portal on our website, type your email address and press "submit".
  2. A screen is displayed and you click on a link to be emailed instructions on how to change options or unsubscribe. This is to protect your personal information from unauthorised access.
Privacy

When you sign up for our email service, the personal details you provide to The Salvation Army are for the sole purpose of sending you information and updates or to request support via donations. At no time will we disclose, sell or otherwise pass on this privileged information to any other organisation. The personal details you provide will only be used for the purposes for which it was intended.

Our email database is protected by a secure user ID and password to protect it from misuse, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

Right of Access

You have full access to your personal details on our email database. To view your details:

  1. Go to any email portal on our website, type your email address and press "submit".
  2. A screen is displayed and you click on a link to be emailed instructions on how to change your details, your options, or to unsubscribe. This is to protect your personal information from unauthorised access.
Why do you ask for my street address?

When you supply your email address, a page is displayed where you are asked for your name and street address. These details are requested so we can save money by ensuring that we do not send you both email and surface mail. 

Note: we are still at an early stage in this development, and will later add a check box so you can request no further surface mail.
