Older single women are facing an increased risk of homelessness in Australia. A combination of low superannuation savings and reduced levels of home ownership means that many of these women have unstable futures.

Are the Homeless Mentally Ill?

This paper by Guy Johnson and Chris Chamberlain (RMIT) challenges the widely believed notion that most homeless people have mental health issues and that mental illness is a primary cause of homelessness. The research involved interviews with clients from The Salvation Army Crisis Services.

Statements for the Federal Election 2010
