Jemena (formerly Alinta), proudly supports the Salvation Army Emergency Services

Salvation Army Emergency Services provided more than
650 meals to firefighters with Jemena sponsored vehicles.
This support has been invaluable in assisting the service provide support to combatants, such as volunteer fire-fighters, involved in combating emergency incidents, and community members affected by such incidents and The Salvation Army Emergency Services are very grateful for this assistance and the benefit provided to the community through this relationship.
The Jemena-sponsored Emergency Services vehicle and trailer has been used during summer to provide food, respite and other support services to the firefighters and community members affected by the Victorian bushfire crisis.
The Salvation Army Emergency Services volunteers served more than 16,000 meals during the recent Victorian bushfires to feed approximately 2,500 firefighters and other emergency service workers.
The Salvation Army’s Emergency Services Coordinator, Warwick Wilson, said their new emergency catering four-wheel-drive and trailer allows them to get close to the action – right up to the rallying points for the firefighters.
"Since the fires started in early December 2006, The Salvation Army Emergency Services volunteers have worked tirelessly to support our heroic firefighters, providing them with meals, water, energy drinks and blankets," he said.
"We give them a place to rest and relax before they head back to the fire front and provide emergency relief for evacuated community members as well."
Both the trailer and coolroom bearing the Alinta signage were prominent at this fire at Greenvale (north of Melbourne).
The temperatures were extreme and hundred of bottles of water and sports drink were provided from the coolroom.
At two large bushfires in the Anakie area the sponsored equipment played a vital role in providing support to Country Fire Authority volunteers and combatants from other agencies such as the police, members of the State Emergency Services and medical responders. The marquees provide valuable shade while responders rested during meal breaks.
At times over 500 meals were provided at each meal break. SAES volunteer workers are seen preparing breakfast with the sponsored trailer, four-wheel drive vehicle and coolroom in the background.
The SAES regularly provide support at emergency service exercises. In theses two pictures CFA volunteers enjoy refreshments at one spectacular exercise.

The truck in use is SAES truck 1 and is one of the additional vehicles now available to display Jemena signage. At the same fire the marquees carried in the trailer purchased with funds from the Alinta sponsorship provided valuable shade during the fire.
Emergency Service personnel combating a large chemical leak in the Northern Suburbs of Melbourne are provided with overnight catering in an Alinta funded marquee.
The Salvation Army has a support role under the Melbourne Emergency Management arrangements should there be a significant incident at the airport and is regularly involved in exercises in this regard.
