You Can Help

At The Salvation Army, we will not rest until we can help those people who need us most of all.

Keeping our refuges open, our vans on the road, the showers operating, providing food and assistance to people in need is only possible by the support of caring people like yourself.

Through your heart-warming support, the Salvos are able to help over 1.5 million people each year. Following are a few ways you can assist the work of The Salvation Army.

Donations

Cash donations: people turn to The Salvation Army for every possible life emergency and the need goes on year round, day after day. But these ongoing needs can only be met through the generous donations and support of people like you.

Clothes and goods donations to Salvos Stores: your donation of used clothing, furniture and other household items to Salvos Stores assist the community by providing reasonably priced, quality goods. The proceeds from the stores are used to provide jobs and free goods to families in need, and provide signification financial contributions to our social programs around Australia. Salvos Crisis Partners

With a monthly automatic debit for as little as $10 per month, you become a Salvos Crisis Partner and help us provide a future for the homeless, food for the hungry, help for families in crisis and training for those without jobs. It’s only through regular committed giving that the Salvos can count on helping Australians in need, day in day out and year in year out.

Child Sponsorship

Our Child Sponsorship Programme assists thousands of needy children in developing countries around the world. Your sponsorship of $25 per month allows us to provide these children with direct assistance of food, medicine, housing, clothing, and education.

Business Partnerships

The partnership of businesses, the Salvos, and the community is one of the great success stories of charitable giving. Many companies work with us to realise their social responsibility and invest in the community.

Volunteers

Since its beginnings The Salvation Army has been a means through which many volunteers can be involved in community work. If you want to help others in your community then why not volunteer some of your time to aid The Salvation Army as we endeavour to help the disadvantaged.

Wills & Bequests

By leaving a bequest to The Salvation Army in your Will, you can become a partner in our life changing work and will leave a lasting legacy. Bequests made to The Salvation Army are used for capital development projects, such as building a homeless shelter or a women's refuge from domestic violence.

Workplace Giving

You can arrange for your employer to deduct as little as $2 a week from your pay to help the Salvos. You won't have to lift a finger, and you'll barely notice that it is being sent. Even better, it's fully tax-deductible.
